Parents can also get involved in workshops and activities, fostering a collaborative learning environment. The purpose of EO STEM Jam is to show children that math can be a fun festival which fosters in them passion to study, to learn new topics, and to achieve better results.
EO STEM Jam is organized by EO Space Oy, an EdTech startup based in Finland, a graduate of the Helsinki Education Incubator, is an integral part of the Helsinki Educational Ecosystem.
EO STEM Jam are open to children studying in Eskari groups and in the first 6 years of school.
This event will be conducted in three languages: Finnish, English and Russian. Embracing multilingualism offers inclusivity, accessibility and cultural exchange for all our participants!
- All tasks for children will be available in both Finnish (the main language) and English.
- The host, volunteers, and activity managers will communicate with children in all three languages.
- Lectures for parents will be conducted in Finnish, English and Russian or with translation services provided, ensuring accessibility for all.
- The game consists of solving math problem cards.
- Problem cards consist of several problems and have different levels of difficulty. The first level can be solved by everyone, and the last one is the most difficult.
- Throughout the game, players pick cards of any difficulty level, solve them, and the volunteer with our system checks the answers.
- If answers are correct, a player receives points named 'olimpcoins', and picks the next card to solve.
- If some of the entered answers are incorrect, no olimpcoins are gained, and the player has to pick another card.
- If a card is too difficult, boring, or a player just doesn't like it, they can change it at any moment of the game.

Yes, of course. It doesn't matter where you live. If you can come to Helsinki, we gladly welcome you! By the way, children from other countries, like Estonia, Sweden, Israel, Bulgaria also join us.
Yes, they can. If your child can handle the tasks, they can participate in any category.
After the purchase, you'll receive an email confirmation with the payment details. This email will include the order number and a link for registration, which you must complete. If you've paid for group participation, you need to forward the registration link and order number to all group members for individual registration.

Basically, no. You can gift your participation to a friend or classmate.

PREPARATION QUESTIONS:
EO STEM Jam features tasks of 6-8 difficulty levels, from elementary, for every participant to advanced beyond the school curriculum.

ON THE MORNING OF THE EVENT:
Information will be sent via email the day before the event. If email is not received, attendees who have paid can come at the beginning of their registration time.
It's recommended to bring a change of clothes. Water coolers are available in the hall. Participants will be provided with pens and drafts.
Dress comfortably for the child. The hall is well-ventilated and warm, with no drafts.
Yes, but young children must be supervised by adults.
